[001] [Action/Accidental Video]
[The rising sun is shined through the gaps in the trees of the forest. Dew on the grass had formed in the early morning and the wildlife in the trees began to wake. It was the high-pitched chattering of tiny birds which seemed to wake Jigen from his peaceful slumber just beneath their tree. His eyes wearily opened and looked upward at them. Why was he outside? He couldn't remember. He stood up slowly, causing a book that was on his leg to fall open and begin recording without his notice.
Jigen's hand first went to his right breast with a slight pat, instinctively checking for his cigarettes. When he felt nothing but plain clothes on his body he then reached up to pat his hair, to which he realized he had no hat. The hand that reached for the cigarettes now reached back to his belt-line to grab his gun--now something of panic appeared to set in. Just above his elbow he could feel something soft brush his skin. A glance back and he caught a glimpse of the wings. Frozen in place for a moment, he could only mutter out a few words at a time.]
Wh-... what the hell...?
[He continued muttering to himself before he finally looked down to the book. He squat down just beside it and peered into the pages, his somewhat dirty hand reaching up and pushing his hair back against his head. As a few stray strands fell into his eyes, he whispered into the book--unsure of if was going crazy or not.]
Who the hell is out there messing with me? If you don't tell me, I'll find you anyway...

Who the hell is out there messing with me? If you don't tell me, I'll find you anyway...
[Action - Jigen, Goemon, Lupin]
I'm with you on that one. [He gestured a toast with his glass before downing the contents.]
What's the plan?
[Action - Jigen, Goemon, Lupin]
[The words were spoken plainly and flatly--Lupin clearly wasn't pleased with the little progress that he'd made in the last two months, though he knew he only had himself to blame. He should have read more, asked more questions...
But he had to keep quiet, in the name of discretion. ...especially after realizing that his actions might make enemies out of people he currently enjoyed speaking to.]
...from what I've gathered, going after that barrier directly isn't gonna do a thing. I'm thinking we need to find the source of it--yeah, I know that there's enemies beyond it, but I don't like a cage of any sort. Cozy as this place is sometimes, it's included.
'Sides. It's boring. Mostly.
[He shrugs, and drains his glass.]
[Action - Jigen, Goemon, Lupin]
I'm sure you've already made your connections and if that's all we have then everyone here is probably as clueless as we are? Great. There has to be someone who knows something else.
[The cigarettes were about to burn a hole in his shirt pocket with the craving he was having now. His respect for Goemon's lungs toward over his urges though. Instead he filled another glass almost to the rim.]
[Action - Jigen, Goemon, Lupin]
I have two things. One: Someone in this enclosure might know a thing or two about how these barriers are made. That is, he has similar ones in his world--I just haven't been able to find him yet. And supposedly he's hard to miss!
Two: Get your hands on your cellphone, Jigen. I don't know what your current model is, so I didn't bother looking. [Unstated is the underlying question of whether Jigen came from the same timeline. Though it wasn't obvious, he'd noticed large and small differences in the memories of him and his friends. Who was to say what else was different?] I only say this because someone found a way to relay messages via Bluetooth, and apparently they're not monitored by anyone.
...I don't know where it will go, but it could be useful.
[Action - Jigen, Goemon, Lupin]
As for the cell phone, he reached into the coat pocket to pull it out and switch it on. It vibrated awake and he immediately went to turn on the bluetooth.]
What's the guy look like? I'll take a look around myself a little later.
[Action - Jigen, Goemon, Lupin]
...Besides, it was a young camorrista that directed him. The man was likely a part of the criminal underground of his world as well.]
I only have a baseline description. Floppy hair and a funny accent, name of Yeager. With a name like that, I'd hazard that he probably has a German accent of some sort--or, I'm way off base and it's an accent we've never heard.
[Action - Jigen, Goemon, Lupin]
[Jigen was sure it wasn't anything they couldn't handle given they had time on their hands. They've had their difficulties before but somehow lucked out when they most needed it. He didn't want to get settled here in Luceti either but for now he would at least get comfortable. At least until a lead showed itself.
His chair slid back to give him enough space as he threw the heels of his feet up onto the table, tilting his seat back and moving his arm off the back edge of the chair. Another long swallow of the wine before he set the glass down a last time.]
[Action - Jigen, Goemon, Lupin]
[There's that smile now, the ever confident one that laughs at a challenge. Just because he had no real plan at that second didn't mean that he wasn't working. Even his bouts of boredom that lead to espionage on the 'lawmakers' and his tinkering had their purposes. He was just doing as Goemon suggested--watching and waiting for the opportunity to strike decisively.
The requisite kicking of their precarious little boat was included in the patience, of course.]
It'll be a cinch for us. It always has.
